As an accredited Viking travel advisor, I can help you select the perfect voyage and ensure a seamless booking experience — with no extra planning fees.

Viking Travel Styles

Viking uniquely offers three cruise categories:

Viking Ocean Cruises

Elegant mid-size ocean ships (930 guests) designed to reach ports larger cruise ships can't. All-veranda staterooms, included excursions, and no nickel-and-diming.

Viking River Cruises

Iconic longships taking you through the heart of Europe's historic waterways. Floor-to-ceiling windows, open-air dining on the Aquavit Terrace, and cultural immersion at every stop.

Viking Expedition Cruises

Purpose-built small vessels exploring Antarctica, the Arctic, the Great Lakes, and beyond. Onboard science labs, expert-led lectures, and experiences you won't find anywhere else.

The Viking Difference

Viking isn't like other cruise lines — and that's the point. There are no casinos, no kids onboard, and no nickel-and-diming. Instead, you get free Wi-Fi on all ships, beer, wine, and soft drinks with every meal, a shore excursion included at every port, private verandas on nearly all ocean staterooms, and enrichment lectures and cultural programming throughout your voyage. It's quiet Scandinavian elegance designed for adults who want to explore the world thoughtfully.

Who Viking Is Perfect For

Viking attracts a specific kind of traveler — curious, cultured, and eager to go deeper. On a Viking voyage, you'll enjoy:

• Museum tours & exclusive access
• Expert-led historical talks
• Culinary immersion
• Music & arts experiences
• Language and regional learning

This isn't a party cruise — it's a journey of the mind and spirit.

🙋‍♀️ Frequently Asked Questions

Is Viking an adults-only cruise line?
Yes. Viking does not allow guests under 18 on any of their ships — ocean, river, or expedition. This creates a calm, refined atmosphere focused on cultural enrichment and relaxation. It's one of the biggest reasons travelers choose Viking.

What's included in a Viking cruise fare?
Viking includes more than most cruise lines. Your fare covers at least one shore excursion at every port, Wi-Fi, beer and wine with lunch and dinner, specialty dining, access to the spa's thermal suite and fitness center, and self-service laundry. There are very few surprise costs.

What's the difference between Viking Ocean and Viking River?
Ocean ships carry about 930 guests and sail open waters to destinations like the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, and Alaska. River ships are smaller longships that cruise Europe's rivers — the Rhine, Danube, Seine, and more — docking right in the heart of historic cities. Both offer the same refined Viking experience.

How does Viking compare to Celebrity Cruises?
Both attract a more sophisticated traveler, but they're quite different. Viking is strictly adults-only, includes shore excursions and drinks, and focuses heavily on cultural enrichment and destination immersion. Celebrity has a wider appeal (families welcome), more nightlife and entertainment, and a more modern/trendy design aesthetic. I can help you decide which fits your travel style.

Does Viking sail to Alaska?
Yes! Viking offers ocean cruises to Alaska with small-ship access to ports and fjords that larger ships can't reach. Their 930-guest ships provide an intimate, expedition-style Alaska experience with included excursions, onboard naturalists, and all the cultural programming Viking is known for.
